Job descriptionTwo (2) years warehouse experience, with one year’s operating material handling equipment (MHE), with a proven track record for safety. Previous experience with RF based Warehouse Management System (WMS), preferably Blue Yonder. Knowledge of warehouse processes, including receiving, order picking, shipping, and inventory control. Organized and strong attention to detail. Able to adapt to change and easily adopt new processes required to meet changing business needs. Able to work in a structured environment and follow instructions. Knowledge of WMS RF Scanner. Experience with BY WMS an asset. As a team member, works collaboratively with Metro employees in a team-oriented environment. Exceptional customer service attitude. Looks for ways to say “Yes” to the customer (internal and external). Promote and support team member driven social initiatives. Follow established processes and achieve customer Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Commitment to quality of work. Approachable, positive interpersonal style. Maintain open, honest relationships. Without compromise, maintains a safe and clean work environment. Follows the Occupational Health and Safety Act including safety, violence and harassment laws. Reports any hazards in the workplace to management. Must not use or operate equipment in a way that puts oneself or others in danger. Must not put other workers at risk by their actions. Ensures safety accidents and incidents are immediately reported to management. Some high school, completion of secondary school diploma preferred. One or a combination of the following equipment experience and certification - Order Picker, Scissor Lift. Able to commit to a flexible work schedule, including overtime and weekends when required. Works 100% of their time on the warehouse floor, walking, standing, and bending. Capable of lifting up to 50lbs repeatedly and safely. Recognize that work hours and location may change. SUMMARY
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor the Material Handler is responsible for a variety of warehouse tasks using an RF and various material handling equipment. Follows best practice processes to ensure we are efficient, accurate, and provide quality and on-time orders for our customers.
Shift available : Monday to Friday - Morning and Afternoon shift
RESPONSIBILITIES
- The material handler plays an important role in meeting customer agreements which include productivity, accuracy, and service level.
- Responsible for the handling of product for various operational processes, including cycle counting, investigations, damages, returns and inventory control.
- This role requires the use of material handling equipment and RF technology.
- Follows Standard Operating Procedures to ensure quality and consistency is achieved.
- Completes material handling tasks as presented on the RF, scanning where possible to avoid manual keying.
- Participates in inventory activities including physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Moves empty pallets, depositing them at the designated pallet holding location.
- Keeps the warehouse clean, orderly, and free from obstructions, with all debris placed in proper containers or designated areas.
- Operates equipment and completes tasks in a manner consistent with company Health & Safety policies.
- Demonstrates respect for the organization’s values, while maintaining and upholding company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
