Job description2-5 years of related experience in a professional environment with a post-secondary degree in Accounting. CPA designation (completed or in progress) is considered an asset. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage a complex workload and prioritize appropriately. Experience in Microsoft Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel and Word Experience with real estate accounting software such as Yardi or Workiva would be considered an asset. Demonstrated professionalism and superior communication skills both verbally. Commitment to Environmental, Social, and (Corporate) Governance responsibilities.
Position Summary
Based out of New Glasgow or Halifax, NS, the Corporate Accountant is responsible for providing support to the accounting operations for Crombie’s portfolio of real estate properties. Additional duties of the Corporate Accountant include but are not limited to :
- Preparing statements, management reports and working papers in support of quarterly and annual regulatory filings and annual audit
- Reviewing accounting records and ensuring the accuracy of reported financial results
- Resolving account discrepancies
- Maintaining ledgers, preparing, and posting journal entries
- Maintaining excellent working relationships with operational field staff and other corporate departments
- required
- Preparation of monthly & annual corporate and indirect tax filings
- Ownership over capital accounting process
- Cultivates strong working relationships internally across all departments as building relationships with external partners and stakeholders.
- Engages across all levels of the organization to create and promote a safe and respectful work environment.
- Other tasks and special projects as assigned.
