Your Opportunity
Dillon’s Electrical discipline group is looking for an Electrical Technologist to fill an existing vacancy within our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience. The position can be based at any one of our offices : Hamilton, Toronto, or London. We offer flexible work hours to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life.
Responsibilities
Assist Electrical Engineers and Project Managers with the design and drafting support for multi‑disciplinary projects.
Assist with the preparation of reports, specifications, and project memos.
Assist with electrical calculations including voltage drop, load calculations, short circuit analysis and Arch Flash studies.
Perform electrical observations and inspections during construction.
Review shop drawings and respond to requests for information from contractors.
Commission on‑site systems.
Business travel upon request.
Commit to self‑development and ongoing learning and professional development.
Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.
Qualifications
An electrical engineering technologist diploma.
Registration as a Certified Engineering Technologist or eligibility to be certified within six months.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Experience
Two to three years of work experience; less experienced professionals will be considered.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2014 (or newer).
Working knowledge of Revit as a Building Information Management (BIM) design tool.
Working knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code and related building codes.
Microstation experience is an asset.
Hands‑on experience in the design and drafting of electrical systems is required.
Compensation
$47,900 – $77,100. Dillon is including the salary range that we in good faith believe may offer for this position. It will be dependent on the successful applicant’s education, experience, and skills, in addition to internal equity and geographic region. Dillon reserves the right to pay outside of the posted range, contingent on factors unrelated to an applicant’s gender or other status protected by provincial and / or federal law.
