The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, exceptionally organized, and able to project plan and manage with a desire to learn and develop skills. We need a team member who will elevate our customer service and culinary fare with a hands-on approach. Crucial to success is building, leading and developing a team of staff and volunteers. The Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring menu development, recipe standardization, budget adherence and successful execution of catering services to guests. The catering department must be led to strive for excellence in preparing and presenting appealing, high-quality, well-balanced, timely and nutritious meals. The manager must adeptly handle dietary requirements and therapeutic diets, ensuring guests receive suitable alternatives that cater to both their physical and psychological needs.Responsibilities : Oversee, develop and manage kitchen personnel. Food Production ranging from wholesome homestyle cooking, and catering to guest requests and functions.Supervise / coordinate all related culinary activitiesEstimate food consumption, prepare orders and maintain realistic stock levels to support production but reduce potential wasteSelect and develop Menu and recipes according to the a group's needs, diversity and service expectationsStandardize Menus and production recipes to ensure consistent qualityEstablish efficient food service delivery, food presentation and meet consistent quality standardsEnsure proper equipment operation / maintenance and ensure proper safety and sanitation in the kitchenOversee special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and / or demonstrate culinary techniquesPlan work schedules that allow Sundays off, balanced working hours and fair rotations.Support our summer student program through inclusion, mentorship, training and care. Location and Terms : The position is a full-time, salaried, seven-day flexible work-week (scheduled off days based on operational demands) at Joy Bible Camp, Bancroft, Ontario.
