Job description

What you’ll do :

  • Receive, inspect, and organize incoming lumber and building materials per Discovery Co-op policies; maintain accurate inventory and report discrepancies or damage.
  • Deliver products efficiently and professionally, following all safety and legislative requirements; verify order accuracy and maintain delivery paperwork.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lumber yard; sweep, stack, and arrange materials; follow opening and closing procedures.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by assisting with inquiries, sharing store promotions, and promoting Co-op membership.
  • Safely operate and maintain equipment, tools, and PPE; complete safety checklists, logbooks, and maintenance as required.
  • Follow all Discovery Co-op policies and procedures; embody the Co-op brand and perform other duties as assigned.

Who you are :

You are looking for a career in Retail and :

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Basic knowledge of building materials is an asset.
  • Co-operative retail experience is an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required.
  • Must have basic math and reading skills.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and perform regular heavy lifting between 50 – 100 lbs.
  • Will be required to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Is an honest, trustworthy and results oriented individual who strives to be the best in what you do.
