Job description

AFIMAC Canada is actively hiring Utility operator for an upcoming temporary assignment in Southwest Ontario.

This position will require you to work 12-hour shifts, Monday to Thursday when assigned to a project.

You will earn:

  • $30.00 per hour before overtime
  • $30 per day non-taxed meal allowance (when lodging is required)
  • Paid Travel (up to 4 hours)
  • Hotel Accommodations Provided (when required)

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform batch oven curing, re-humidification and scalping of grain as directed by supervision.
  • Set up and adjust equipment for the production of a standard product.
  • Inspects materials during production for visible defects and promptly reports any deviations or unusual conditions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Transport raw materials and supplies to supply makers and transport finished products to proper areas using lift trucks.
  • Clean and organize the making department and all storage areas.
  • Clean, oil and grease equipment used in the making department.
  • Maintain accurate records and perform necessary clerical work.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Obey all existing fire and safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by supervision.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment as a utility operator.
  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Experience in operating production equipment and lift trucks is an asset
  • Ability to follow production specifications and standard operating procedures
  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Ability to maintain a clean, safe work environment and report obvious product defects.
  • Ability to safely handle raw materials, supplies and finished products
  • Fluent command of the English language (both written and verbal)
