This role will work closely with the executive team to develop and implement financial strategies that support CIRO’s goals and deliverables. The position is also responsible for directing the financial (treasury, reporting management) activities and for the internal controls of the organization and promoting a high-performance culture, enhancing leadership capabilities is forefront in this evolving landscape.Key Responsibilities : Develop and implement strategies that ensure the effective financial and accounting management of the organizationDevelop and mentor the finance team of 25, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional developmentOversee financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial reportingHolds an integral role in the Management Pension Committee requiring hands-on experiencePreparing materials for Board and audit committee meetings with presentation involvementProvincial and National experience a strong assetProvide strategic financial guidance and recommendations to the executive leadership team based on financial analysis and projectionsManage relationships with auditors and regulatory bodies both internal and external to the organizationEnsure financial information is accurate and appropriate for use by key stakeholders including auditors, internal and external partners, senior / executive leadership, and the BoardLead the financial planning and analysis function to drive adherence to the annual plan and support budgetary decision makingCollaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of financial goals and objectivesManage the investment of any excess organization’s cash while optimizing risks effectivelyManage the insurance portfolio of the organization as it relates to property and Directors and Officers insuranceContribute to the development and implementation of the corporate strategy encompassing annual business and operational plans, projects, programs, and systemsIdentify and manage financial risks to the organizationEnsure compliance with financial regulations and standardsEnsure all required internal controls are in place and operating effectivelyQualifications : University degree coupled with a CPA / CA designation. MBA an asset.Minimum of 7 - 10 years' experience as a Senior Financial Leader within financial services or a Not-for-Profit organization. Proven track record of providing strategic leadership allowing for maximum operating potential, while maintaining complete accuracy and reliability of the company’s financial dataExtensive, experience and knowledge of budgets, internal controls, business planning, and pension accounting.Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirementsRequire a familiarity with the various activities and by-laws of the organization and of the precedents in various areas such as fee determination and relations to membersKnowledge of the nature of the various activities of the members to help in the determination of fees to levyAdvanced proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheet programs and applications.A well-defined sense of diplomacy, conflict resolution, and people management skills.Experience presenting financial information to Executive Management and a Board of DirectorsIf you're a results-oriented finance leader looking to make a real impact, this could be your next big move!
