Maintenance and Parts Team Lead - $75k to $100k - Airdrie, AB

Are you a Millwright or Electrician with a leadership background, maintenance planning, and inventory management experience?

Do you have strong procedural knowledge of installations, maintenance, and SDTA within the Food and Beverage Manufacturing industry?

If so, We'd love to hear from you! Our client is a leading food manufacturing company dedicated to delivering high-quality food to their customers and delivering on their recognized brand name.

They are looking for a dynamic and experienced Maintenance Scheduler / Planner and Parts Team Lead to support maintenance operations and parts management.

Maintenance : This role will be responsible for scheduling, planning, preventive maintenance (PM) follow-up, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of our maintenance department.

Parts : This role will be responsible for inventory (for automated and robotic parts), vendor relationships, commissioning, capital expense and upgrade planning.

Technical : Minor support for tradespeople during installs or other activities.

Additionally, the Team Lead will step in as coverage for the maintenance manager to provide coverage during vacations.

Job Type : Permanent position

Location : Airdrie, AB

Schedule : Straight day : Monday to Friday

Environment : Food Manufacturing non-unionized

Salary : Hourly $75,000 to $100,000 (Based on certification and experience)

Responsibilities

What you'll be doing :

Maintenance :

  • Schedule and coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.
  • Plan and execute preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
  • Provide hands-on support and guidance to the maintenance team as needed.
  • Act as the manager in the absence of Maintenance Manager, ensuring efficient operations and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance-related needs and priorities.
  • Parts Management :

  • Oversee inventory management to ensure adequate stock levels of critical parts and supplies.
  • Manage vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery of parts.
  • Forecast costs related to parts procurement and maintenance activities.
  • Plan and coordinate PM shutdowns, ensuring availability of necessary parts and resources.
  • Forecast and manage capital expenses related to parts inventory and procurement.
  • Lead the parts management team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure effective operations.
  • Qualifications

    What you bring :

  • Maintenance Millwright or Electrician background within Food & Beverage industry is a strong asset
  • Some experience in maintenance operations and parts management, with team lead experience
  • Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with maintenance processes and equipment.
  • Great interpersonal skills, able to build relationships with a diverse range of people.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor team members.
  • Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems.
