Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of the Global Analytics and Financial Engineering in Canada ensuring specific individual goals plans initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the teams business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations internal policies and procedures.

What Youll Do :

• Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships systems and knowledge.
• Develops robust reliable and user-friendly front office analytics for pricing hedging risk management and P&L attribution for both intraday and end of day
• Provides daily and on demand quantitative / technical support to the business in a timely manner related to valuation risks PnL attribution hedging etc
• Provides subject matter expertise to stakeholders such as business risk management product control and technology groups
• Forms close partnerships with business to deliver solutions to production from end-to-end with very limited supervision
• Provides technical team leadership to enable team members to be able to work efficiently without overheads
• Provides coaching to junior team members in both business and technical areas
• Understand how the Banks risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Creates an environment in which his / her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his / her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabanks Values its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles while ensuring the adequacy adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational compliance AML / ATF / sanctions and conduct risk.
• Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts retains develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison / values / business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.

This position is currently an on-site role with the expectation that you will work at least 4 days a week in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
