Our client is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our Vaughan based team as a Project Estimator. This is an opportunity to join a company with over 25 years of construction experience. Reporting to the Chief Estimator you will be responsible for all aspects of tendering a project. Travel throughout the GTA area may be required.

About the Role

  • Visit pretender site meetings and site investigations
  • Perform quantity / material take-offs
  • Checking estimates for accuracy and errors
  • Solicit subtrade pricing
  • Budgeting and cost control
  • Evaluating subtrade quotations during tendering
  • Finalization of tender forms for submittal
  • Analysis and summarizing successful and unsuccessful tenders
  • Submittal of bonding and insurance requirements
  • Communicate with Owners and Consultants
  • Assess and evaluate risks of each tendered project
  • Update and Coordinate Request for Tender and Quotation documents with subtrades
  • Ability to develop preliminary construction scheduled using MS Project

Skills and Experience

  • 8 to 10 years experience working as a Project Estimator
  • Post-secondary education in a construction related program
  • Professional attitude
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Highly organized
  • Great attention to detail
  • Solid computer skills in particular MS Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a self-directed manner
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required
