Teaching Experience : Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching EWC4U and IB Extended Essay (preferred). Knowledge of IB curriculum frameworks is an asset. Experience working with ESL students is a plus. Pedagogical Skills : Strong organizational skills and ability to manage an online classroom effectively. Technology Proficiency : High proficiency in using technology to enhance teaching and learning in an online environment. In March, 2015, it was authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) to become an IB World School, offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). Its school license code is 049719. NOIC ACADEMY is co-inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education and IBO.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated IB & OSSD English teacher to teach the Ontario Grade 12 The Writer’s Craft (EWC4U) course / IB Extended Essay (EE) course within the IB framework on a remote basis. This position involves delivering the course material, providing student support, and collaborating with academic staff in a culturally diverse environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a dynamic and effective online learning experience for students.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching :
- Deliver the EWC4U / EE course once a week for a 12-week period, totaling 18 synchronous teaching hours (excluding breaks).
- Engage with students remotely, maintaining an interactive and supportive online learning environment.
- Mark assignments, respond to student inquiries, and prepare report cards in alignment with the Ontario Ministry of Education’s assessment and reporting guidelines.
- Fulfill all responsibilities associated with the teaching role beyond class time, including administrative tasks and student progress monitoring.
- Collaboration :
- Work closely with the Vice Principal and online administration team to coordinate course-related tasks and ensure successful course delivery.
- Maintain ongoing communication with students and staff to foster a positive educational experience.
