Overview

We have an immediate opening for the regular, full-time position of Crew Lead, Solid Waste Operations. The successful candidate will have a diploma in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Science, Solid Waste Management or a related field and hold a valid BC driver’s license.
You have strong interpersonal skills, proven supervisory capabilities, excellent customer service skills and knowledge of the solid waste industry. You are well organized with the ability to perform under pressure in a high customer volume environment.
Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Solid Waste Operations, the Crew Lead, Solid Waste Operations supervises Inspector and Scale Attendant staff and assists in the coordination of the daily operation and maintenance of the Greater Vernon landfill.

This is a regular, full-time position (35 hours / week) with a wage range of $38.73 to $44.50 per hour (2026 rates), depending upon experience and qualifications, as well as an extensive benefits package and generous compressed work schedule.

Qualifications
- Diploma in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Science, Solid Waste Management, or related field
- Two years of experience in the environmental or solid waste fields, preferably in a landfill setting
- One year in a supervisory role
