Your opportunity

Dillon’s Environmental Sciences team is looking for an Environmental Specialist to join our existing teams in Atlantic Canada (Saint John, Fredericton, Moncton, St. John’s, Halifax). We offer flexible work hours and hybrid work arrangement options to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life.

As we grow our teams with exciting and interesting work, we are looking for an experienced leader to help grow and develop the team. You will help lead an energetic team through mentorship, coaching and technical development to grow our environmental services within Atlantic Canada. You will partner with clients to identify environmental and permitting risks, develop solutions, and recommend protection measures for environmentally sustainable project development. While focused on Atlantic Canada, you may also engage in industry-leading projects across Canada.

Responsibilities

Business Development

Build client relationships through market opportunity identification, communication, proposals, and business activities.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
Contribute to proposals with budget development and writing.
Collaborate with staff across Canada for project delivery and research.

Technical Practice, Project Management & Design

Lead environmental permitting, project approval programs, research, field work, and reporting.

Support environmental assessments, registration, and permitting at provincial and federal levels.

Scope, plan, and implement assessment programs across sectors.

Coordinate project teams and contribute to staff development.

Learning & Development

Develop technical skills and business acumen.

Mentor less experienced staff and contribute to professional associations.

Qualifications

Required :

Degree or diploma in environmental, physical sciences, or engineering.

At least 8 years of relevant experience, especially in environmental permitting.

Valid driver’s license (Class 5).

Strong communication and report writing skills.

English proficiency; French skills are an asset.

Experience

Knowledge of environmental legislation and permitting processes.

Experience with regulatory applications and social science disciplines.

Stakeholder and Indigenous engagement experience is an asset.

Project management and client relationship skills.

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
