Title : Language Resource Worker or Language Teacher - Ucwalmicwts Proficiency / FluencyDepartment : Xet'olacw Community Band School Status : Regular, Full Time Pay Grid : SAT or Teachers ($46,683 to $109,520 per year)Reporting to : School Administrators Summary of Duties : This position has two tiers Language Resource Worker or Language Teacher - pay and education are reflective of each tier. The position teaches with the support and guidance of a qualified teacher and teaches a variety of subjects such as social studies, math, science, physical education, arts, English, Super Courses, Ucwalmicwts Language, etc. Key Deliverables and Expectations : Involvement with developing and delivering lessons plans based on course essential learning outcomesMaintain a daybook with lesson plans Records student attendance in classRecords, maintains, and updates student achievements dataInvolvement with assigning students grades and comments for reporting purposesAssist qualified teacher with developing long range plans centered on curricular and essential learning outcomesRegularly communicates with students about their progressAccommodate the needs of students including but not limited to specifications outlines in plans such as IEPsPerform other related duties as requested. Experience and Attributes : University degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience (tier 1). Possession of / or ability to apply for a BC Teaching Certificate (tier 2). TQS Category (tier 2). Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in the English language. Ability to work independently and as an integral member of various teams. Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail and time management skills. Ability to meet deadlines prioritizes assignments, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain confidentiality. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Motivated self-starter and with strong interpersonal skills. Highly professional in all aspects of business, presentation and interaction with all stakeholders, clients, and Members. Must be able to provide a clear Criminal Record Check, including the vulnerable sector.
