The Opportunity :
For the 2025-26 academic year, we are seeking an English Teacher to work in our Senior and Middle School on a full-time, contract basis until the end of February 2026. In a community where social-emotional learning and diversity, equity and inclusion are key priorities, the successful candidate demonstrates empathy, creativity, strong communication skills and the ability to build a caring rapport with students and colleagues. The successful candidate will join the English, ESL, and International Languages Department and report to the Instructional Leader for the department.
Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to :
- Using a lens of social-emotional learning, create a class environment that inspires and supports learning and personal growth;
- Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a solid foundation for further education in accordance with each students ability;
- Fosters a love of language and literature in young people;
- Establish positive relationships with parents, faculty and other staff members;
- Ensure the written, taught and assessed curriculum is in line with the IB and Ministry of Education curriculum ensuring differentiation;
- Develop culturally relevant, inclusive and responsive English curriculum for diverse learners;
- Develop course outlines, unit plans, lesson plans ensuring integration of all aspects of the IB Middle Years Program and Diploma Program curricula, with a focus on inquiry based learning;
- Update all necessary records accurately as required by the Ministry, IBO and school guidelines;
- Communicate information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress including formally through report cards and parent-teacher meetings;
- Keep up-to-date and incorporate best practices in subject area and approaches to teaching and learning through professional reading, participating in workshops and other professional development opportunities;
- Participate actively in faculty and department / division meetings and meet regularly with all course teams to plan, review and update the written curriculum;
- Assume responsibility for and participate in co-curricular activities and supervision duties.

Target Hiring Range : $68,505.39 - $130,433.64 (placement on the grid is determined based on qualifications and years of eligible and related experience)
