What is the opportunity?
Next Best Action Partner Engagement & Personalization team is currently recruiting for an exciting role of Manager, Analytics. In this role, you will work directly with product / client partners in Personal & Commercial Banking, working across product teams to enable direct to client strategies. You will be called upon to leverage data to formulate and deliver actionable insights which support information-based business decisions and drive change; which underpin the business unit’s performance management, products and customer profitability reporting. In addition, you will enable your business client’s through the provisioning of data assets, analytical reports and dashboards. In this role, you will have the opportunity to build a solid understanding of RBC’s products, services and the associated client behaviors.This is a hybrid role with 3 to 4 days in the office.What will you do?Bring in-depth data analyses to bear on the development of revolutionary client universe sub-segmentation and value proposition.
Participate in strategy meetings to gather and document business requirements and learn how to formulate analytical framework.
Participate and contribute to projects with other partner groups to meet business requirements.
Learn and apply new businesses, techniques, and ideas within a reasonable period of time.
Perform comprehensive data analysis and communicate meaningful insights in the form of data sets, reports and dashboards.
Maintain or enhance existing reports to showcase insights and support tactics.
Analyze large data sets in conjunction with data dictionaries to understand business context and how it can be applied to satisfy provided analytics and reporting requirements.
Consult with business partners to understand business goals and the intended client journey.
Seek opportunities to automate and streamline analytics and reporting steps.
Develop reports to detect and trace data anomalies and perform impact analysis.
Transform the way we use data by developing advanced reporting and analytics to serve our business clients.
Ensure compliance and privacy guidelines are strictly adhered to.
Bachelors in Mathematics / Statistics, Engineering, or Computer Science. Masters considered an asset.
Proficiencies in the following Python, Scala, Spark, Hadoop, UNIX/Linux, SQL and SAS similar tools to extract, manipulate and analyze large complex data.
Advanced Tableau, Excel, PowerPoint skills.
Excellent research and analytical capabilities, data visualization skills to produce complex data analysis.
Strong consulting mindset to thoroughly understand what he / she is solving for and how their business partners will leverage the insights.
Self-starter, able to work and think through problems and assignments in a self-directed manner
Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high quality standards while handling a variety of assignments and deadlines simultaneously; ability to prioritize.
3+ years of experience in the big data ecosystem, cloud technologies, with Hadoop (Pig, Hive, HDFS), Apache Spark, and NoSQL/SQL databases
4+ years of experience in business analytics and insights
Experience working in the Financial Services industry
Knowledge of deposit and investment products, payments and banking
Extensive experience connecting to and querying data from RBC data platforms and technologies EDW, Enterprise Data Lake (EDL)
