Health & Safety Specialist (Bilingual FR/EN) to support the implementation and continuous improvement of health and safety programs at the site level for our client in North Bay, ON. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who is passionate about building a strong safety culture and partnering with leaders to drive sustainable performance in a dynamic environment.
You will lead the deployment of H&S strategies, programs, and systems while supporting site leadership through coaching, training, and hands-on guidance. You will play a key role in hazard prevention, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure a safe and healthy workplace.

Responsibilities: - Implement and support health & safety strategies, policies, and standards at the site level
- Partner with leadership to strengthen safety culture through coaching and engagement
- Act as LMS superuser, managing training assignments, tracking, and compliance
- Develop and update digital training content (e.g., Articulate or similar tools)
- Coordinate site onboarding and training programs, evaluating effectiveness and driving improvements
- Support and deliver monthly safety meetings with leaders and supervisors
- Conduct audits and inspections across key safety programs (e.g., LOTO, WHMIS, Emergency Response)
- Identify, assess, and manage workplace hazards and risks
- Support development of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments
- Analyze safety metrics and trends to drive continuous improvement
- Lead or support incident investigations, ensuring root causes and corrective actions are identified
- Manage reporting of workplace injuries/illnesses and support return-to-work programs
- Provide guidance to the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) and maintain safety communications
Qualifications and Skills: - Certificate, diploma, or degree in Health & Safety or related field
- 5+ years of experience in a Health & Safety role
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (asset)
- Experience implementing safety programs in a greenfield site (asset)
- Strong knowledge of H&S regulations, risk assessment, and safety systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and learning management systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage priorities independently
- Bilingualism (English/French) is required
- Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
