THE OPPORTUNITYThe UGDSB is seeking dynamic individuals to join our team in the capacity of Emergency Educational Assistant. Under the direction of the Principal / Vice-Principal, this position in the absence of an unfilled Educational Assistant vacancy, will support students with many diverse needs, ensuring a safe and secure environment at all times.Work Locations : All geographical areas of the Board including North Wellington, Centre Wellington, East Wellington, Guelph, Orangeville, Dufferin County and Shelburne. Applicants will be able to select the school location(s) and / or geographic areas where they are interested in working. Rate of Pay : $29.92 per hour (wage rate effective September 1, 2024), plus applicable vacation pay, in accordance with the Employment Standards ActHours Per Week : On call depending on need (3.25 hours or 6.5 hours per day)Duties to commence / end : As soon as possible and ending June 26, 2025 with possibility of extensionResponsibilities : Work with students with many diverse needs. This work provides support for the behaviour, safety, medical and physical needs of a student. Duties may include lifting, toileting, positioning and transferring children and equipment.
