Job description
Job DescriptionLocation: Hannover or any u-blox office (hybrid) or 100% fully remote worldwide

You will be one of the technical leaders behind u-blox’s expanding portfolio of high-precision positioning services: a recognized leader across the business unit who shapes strategy, leads cross-team initiatives, mentors engineers, and still dives into algorithms when needed. Your work will directly influence how industrial robotics and autonomous machines achieve centimeter-level accuracy worldwide.
If you are a GNSS craftsperson who combines deep algorithmic expertise with the ability to mentor, influence roadmaps, and turn complex customer problems into elegant solutions – this is your playground.

Your Responsibilities
  • Act as a recognized authority on GNSS algorithms and positioning systems architecture.
  • Drive next-generation initiatives in the field of high-precision GNSS positioning, and rapidly prototype, validate and develop production-grade systems
  • Co-shape the technical roadmap with Product Owners and fellow principals
  • Work in cross business unit teams to support end-2-end algorithms implementation to ensure end-to-end product success
  • Mentor engineers across the business unit, scale your impact through coaching and frameworks
  • Represent us in standards bodies, consortia, or critical customer engagements when needed

Your Skills and Experience
  • 10+ years in high-precision GNSS product development
  • Strong ability to productize in C/C++
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex initiatives without formal authority
  • Excellent communication – from translating technical discussion to POs to whiteboarding sessions with peers

What you’ll love
  • Real ownership in a truly flat structure – you collaborate as peers with everyone
  • Direct customer loop: work closely with integration partners and end-customers (e.g., robotic lawnmower OEMs, precision-ag fleets) and see your work in the field
  • Time and budget to publish, speak at conferences, and stay at the cutting edge
  • Surround yourself with other recognized experts who have many years in the industry and still love to code
  • If this sounds like the technical playground you’ve been looking for – let’s talk.

What are your perks?
  • A multicultural and international company with over 60 different nationalities
  • Project-based activities working with colleagues distributed across the globe
  • A start-up and innovation mindset while in the process of scaling-up processes and efficiencies
  • Hybrid working model & flexible working hours
  • A strong learning environment
  • Sport activities and Team events
  • ... and discover even more by talking with us!
