Idea Camp Communications Inc. is a boutique communications firm that researches, plans and implements communications strategies for government and public organizations. We pride ourselves on holistic practices that help our clients strengthen their public presence and engage their key audiences.
Our client list is growing, and so is our small but mighty team! We’re looking for a self-starting, passionate communications specialist with exceptional writing skills to join us. You’ll work on a wide variety of initiatives, showcasing your expertise while learning alongside a supportive and talented team.
Location : Applicants must be located in British Columbia, Canada. Applicants outside of British Columbia will not be considered.
Role Overview
This position offers a chance to build your skills as a professional communicator while also leaving room for creativity and experimentation. We love unique perspectives and encourage our teammates to grow alongside our work.
Duties include :
- Writing & Editing : At the heart of effective communication is a strong voice. You will create clear, concise, and engaging content, including blog posts, success stories, news releases, project reports, website content, and presentations. Strong writing skills and the ability to adapt voice and tone to suit both the audience and the client's brand are essential.
- Communications Strategies : At Idea Camp, we excel in strategic communications plans, driven by comprehensive research and analysis. You will be responsible for developing and implementing impactful strategies that enhance our clients’ projects, goals and business objectives.
- Client Support & Project Management : You will support multiple client accounts and may be integrated into their respective teams. Your responsibilities include managing tasks and timelines, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring projects stay on track and are well-organized.
- Improving Client Communications & Processes : You will help clients strengthen their communications by improving existing processes or developing new ones. This may include conducting communications audits, mapping workflows, or drafting policies and procedures that support clarity and alignment. We’re looking for someone with an analytical, solutions-oriented mindset who can identify opportunities to enhance how our clients communicate and engage their audiences.
- Social Media Campaigns : This role requires the planning and execution of social media campaigns across various platforms. Responsibilities include developing copy and creative assets, scheduling and posting content, managing paid ad campaigns, monitoring engagement, and preparing performance reports. You’ll help ensure content aligns with client goals and brand voice while staying on top of trends and best practices.
- Internal Communications & Team Collaboration : You’ll build trust and respect with your teammates by providing constructive feedback, contributing positively to group efforts, and actively supporting a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
