Your Opportunity
As an Electrical Engineer in our Dartmouth office, you will work independently on small and average sized projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a Senior Engineer. You will participate in the evaluation, recommendation, and specification for engineered systems or products for a project verifying compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards / practices.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, select, specify, and engineer all electrical engineered systems or products for a project and assuring work is reviewed for overall technical accuracy
- Collaborate in person or remotely with team members, other Stantec disciplines, and clients to achieve project success, acting as a project team member or a project leader.
- Engage in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
- Utilize BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional models of building's electrical systems and provide markups for junior engineers / designers.
- Prepare and revise documentation in various electrical phases including site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details.
- Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and / or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
- Participate in client project requirement meetings and value analysis and basic cost estimating.
- Assist upper level staff with developing and managing the project scope, budget, staffing and schedule.
- Lead the preparation and coordination of the project specifications with construction documents.
- Perform and oversee the development of calculations using company standard software, and proprietary manufacturer software.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control on projects.
- Conduct field reviews of projects during construction to verify conformance with construction documents and provide letters of professional assurance to the applicable authorities having jurisdiction.
- Works on multiple projects.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
