Senior Field Service Technician
Location: Fergus, Ontario, CA
Compensation: $35-$40/hour + overtime
About the Role:
A growing power generation service organization is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician
to support customers across Southern Ontario. This is a field-based role ideal for an experienced technician who enjoys working with their hands, troubleshooting complex equipment, and traveling directly to customer sites.
This opportunity is a strong fit for candidates with experience as a Generator Technician, Diesel Technician, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Truck and Coach Technician, Automotive Service Technician, Industrial Mechanic, or Field Service Technician.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues
on power generation and related equipmentService large engine systems
and associated componentsPerform DC and AC electrical troubleshooting
Complete field service work at customer sites throughout Southern Ontario
Communicate professionally with customers and provide strong service support
Maintain accurate service documentation and reports
Participate in an eventual on-call rotation
Requirements
5+ years of hands-on technician experience
Strong experience with big engines / large engine systems
Strong background in electrical troubleshooting
Experience with DC and AC systems
Must own personal tools
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Willingness to travel daily and stay overnight as needed
Must want a long-term, hands-on career in the trades
Schedule and Travel
Field-based role with travel to customer sites across Southern Ontario
Technicians go directly from home to the job site
Some overnight travel required, typically up to 3 nights per month
Limited weekend work, with participation in an on-call rotation after training
