Job description

Venor is proud to partner with Arbec Forest Products Inc. – Miramichi Division in their search for an Assistant General Manager to join their team.

As part of a company committed to continuous improvement and high production standards, the Assistant General Manager plays a key role in supporting the strategic and day-to-day operations of the plant. Working closely with the General Manager, this position is critical to leading teams, optimizing processes, and ensuring safety, quality, and performance benchmarks are achieved.

What youll be doing:

  • Operational Management: Coordinate production, maintenance, and quality activities to meet performance targets.
  • Process Optimization: Develop strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance profitability.
  • Team Management: Lead, motivate, and develop production, maintenance, and support teams while ensuring safety and quality compliance.
  • Production Monitoring: Analyze KPIs, prepare reports, and propose corrective actions when needed.
  • Material Resources Management: Support inventory management and raw material purchasing.
  • Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and other performance tools.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in the wood industry.
  • Over 10 years of management experience in an industrial environment (wood sector is a plus).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Expertise in production and quality management.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Results-driven and proactive mindset.
  • Bilingual (English and French is an asset).
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
