Your New Role
Reporting to the COO, the Director of PMO oversees the Project Management team ensuring projects are executed efficiently, on time, within budget, and aligned with strategic objectives. This role focuses on driving process improvements, standardizing project management practices, and enhancing PMO performance to support business growth and client satisfaction. You will lead and mentor the PMO team, develop and implement strategies, and act as a key stakeholder in cross-functional leadership teams. Responsibilities include overseeing HVAC project delivery, monitoring project status, risks, timelines, and budgets, and establishing best practices and standards. You will manage resources, budget, and financial tracking, and serve as the main point of contact for executives and internal clients. Additionally, you will build a high-performing team through coaching and training, and proactively manage project risks and issues.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
We are looking for a candidate with in-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and software. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a team of project managers and supporting large, complex projects from start to finish. Strong financial acumen and the ability to manage project budgets effectively are essential. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and address complex project challenges, are required. The candidate should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in stakeholder management and client-facing roles. Familiarity with project management software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, and Smartsheet is necessary. Educational requirements include a bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field, with a master’s or MBA preferred. PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is required. The candidate should have 8+ years of experience in project management, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role, ideally in the HVAC, construction, or related industries.
