The Volunteer’s Role

We are excited to welcome a skilled professional to collaborate with our partner organization, FOSDEH, in leading a free, prior, and informed consultation process in Honduras. This initiative centers on fostering meaningful engagement between the private sector, government, and local communities. The goal is to spark insightful research on how these three key sectors can be interconnected and improve their coordination. As a volunteer, you will:

  • Support the partner organization in the free, prior, and informed consultation (CPLI) process by facilitating workshops with the private sector, government, and indigenous communities, and preparing detailed consultation reports.
  • Develop proposals to integrate CPLI into Honduras' environmental impact assessment process, resulting in published best practices, policy guidance summaries, and recommendations to aid FOSDEH's advocacy and engagement with stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications:

  • University degree in social science, international development and/or equivalent experience in a related field.

Essential Background:

  • Knowledge of Human Rights issues
  • Experience working with the private sector
  • Hands-on research experience involving diverse stakeholders (CSOs, MSMEs, NGOs, local and national governments)

  • Proven experience working within multicultural and multidisciplinary teams

What’s in it for YOU? A life-changing experience!
