Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Food Services Worker to join the Food Production team. The successful candidate will be self motivated and able to work both independently and in a team setting. They will have a strong work ethic and be motivated to join a team that prides itself on creating a safe and respectful environment for staff, patients, residents, families, and visitors.

Responsibilities
Perform a variety of duties according to Food Safe protocols and quality and safety standards including :
- portioning and serving meals,
- washing and peeling vegetables and fruit,
- preparing items such as tea, coffee and toast,
- washing dishes and utensils,
- portioning desserts and assembling sandwiches and salads,
- preparing and portioning diet items in accordance with nutritional plans,
- measuring and combining food and beverage ingredients by methods such as grinding, blending, slicing, dicing and / or puree.
- Check patient / resident meals / trays to ensure dietary accuracy.
- Strip wagons / trays, wash dishes and pots, clean food wagons, kitchen equipment, fridges and storage areas and wipe down tables and counter areas; you will also sweep and damp mop floors and remove garbage.
- Perform related clerical duties.
- May operate a cash register and related equipment, receive payments and provide change for items purchased.
- Answer customer queries.
