Since 1981, Ronald McDonald House Toronto has served as a place to call home for families with seriously ill children undergoing treatment. Ronald McDonald House Toronto encompasses a House for 81 families in downtown Toronto and seven Family Rooms in hospitals across the Greater Toronto Area and in Sudbury. The families we serve come from throughout Ontario, across Canada and around the world.
We are seeking an experienced and values-driven Director of Finance to join our leadership team at the House, located at 240 McCaul St., Toronto, and play a vital role in ensuring the financial health, integrity, and sustainability of our organization.
The Role
Reporting to the CEO / CFO, the Director of Finance will lead all aspects of Ronald McDonald House Toronto’s financial operations. This mix of hands-on and strategic role oversees financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, risk management, and compliance — ensuring that Ronald McDonald House Toronto continues to operate with transparency, accountability, and fiscal responsibility.
The Director will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, the Board’s Finance and Audit Committee, and external auditors, providing sound financial guidance that supports our mission and long-term sustainability.
- Develop, strengthen, and implement financial policies, systems, and internal controls.
- Oversee financial reporting, including monthly and annual statements, dashboards, and management analyses.
- Prepare and present quarterly and year-end results to the CEO / CFO, Finance and Audit Committee, and Board.
- Coordinate the annual audit and ensure compliance with CRA and other regulatory reporting requirements.
- Lead the annual budget process and quarterly forecasts, partnering with department leaders to develop accurate, actionable plans.
- Conduct financial analyses, cash flow management, and investment monitoring in line with organizational policies.
- Provide insight and recommendations to senior leaders to address trends, variances, and emerging risks.

- Ensure appropriate controls are in place to safeguard assets and comply with all relevant laws and privacy standards.
- Monitor, evaluate, and enhance internal systems for effective financial and operational governance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance team to ensure excellence in service delivery and financial stewardship.
- Partner cross-functionally to improve financial literacy and operational efficiency across the organization.
- Oversee relationships with external service providers such as auditors, IT, and investment managers.
