About the Opportunity :

My client, a family-owned, established and growing company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance to join their team just West of the Niagara Region. This pivotal role will oversee full-cycle accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and meticulous management of intercompany transactions and reconciliations across various entities.

The successful candidate will be a strategic leader, responsible for driving financial accuracy, implementing robust internal controls, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the accounting department. Key Responsibilities :

• Lead and manage all full-cycle accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and month-end / year-end close processes.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and continuous training.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and consolidated reporting for the corporate group.
• Maintain and reconcile intercompany balances across multiple entities, developing and enforcing processes for intercompany transactions and eliminations.
• Oversee weekly cash flow management and bi-weekly vendor payment runs.
• Implement and monitor strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements.
• Assist in annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes, providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable regulatory requirements.

Coordinate and facilitate external audits, acting as the primary liaison with auditors.
