Job descriptionCompletion of an accredited degree / post diploma Ultrasound program, or recognized equivalent. Registered in good standing with College of Medical Radiation & Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO). Current credentialed member of Sonography Canada. Completion of a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) program. Demonstrated excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to work under pressure and exercise independent judgement. Ability to function independently. Ability to assess requests and prioritize them to ensure excellent and prompt patient care. Proven ability to adapt standard work procedures to emergency situations. Commitment to continued professional and personal growth through Continuing Education Programs and Self-Directed Learning Opportunities. Demonstrated compassion and respect for patients, families, and support persons in the provision of imaging services. Perform routine and emergency procedures in accordance with established methods as described in departmental Policies and Procedures manuals, while documenting high-quality images, including but not limited to abdominal, OB / GYN, and small parts. Experience in musculoskeletal, neurosonography, vascular imaging, and assisting in interventional procedures is an asset. Operate, troubleshoot, and ensure ultrasound, medical imaging, and ancillary equipment are performing effectively and efficiently. Prepare written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test results. Work all shifts including standby. Be an integral part of the diagnostic imaging team to ensure smooth workflow within the department and coordination with other hospital departments.
