Job description

Salary: $70,791 - 70,791 per year

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years in a Data Engineering or similar hands-on data role
  • Significant experience in designing and constructing data systems and infrastructure
  • Proven track record in executing data migration projects including assessment, mapping, cleansing, and transition
  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts including OLTP vs OLAP design and dimensional modeling (Kimball)
  • Proficient in SQL, with practical experience using relational databases such as PostgreSQL or Oracle
  • Familiar with data quality methodologies including validation, monitoring, and anomaly detection
  • Knowledge of storage and Lakehouse formats such as Parquet and Delta Lake, with an understanding of their functionalities
  • Practical experience with cloud services like AWS, with knowledge of services like S3 and Glue, or equivalent in Azure or GCP
  • Understanding of DevOps principles including Git, CI/CD for data, and infrastructure-as-code (preferably Terraform)
  • Deep expertise in ETL/ELT processes and performance optimization strategies
  • Strong ownership mentality with a pragmatic approach to delivering solutions
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative attitude
Responsibilities:
  • Design and enhance the Lakehouse storage architecture across different layers
  • Lead efforts for legacy data migration including assessing systems and managing data quality
  • Set and maintain data quality standards through validation rules and anomaly detection
  • Build and refine ETL/ELT data ingestion processes across various platforms
  • Ensure production pipelines operate consistently with effective observability and performance management
  • Utilize modern file formats to optimize performance and manage schema evolution
  • Implement data security measures and governance protocols
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to create scalable data solutions
  • Contribute to the enhancement of data architecture and system reliability
