Position Description:
This is an exciting opportunity to join CGI as a Senior Full Stack Developer, supporting high-impact enterprise initiatives across business and technology teams. We are seeking a seasoned professional with 6+ years of hands-on full stack development experience, strong expertise in Angular (12 through 18), AWS Lambda, and Node.js.
In this role, you will act as a key interface between Business and Technology, translating business requirements into scalable, supportable, and high-performing technical solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, operations, application teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to design, develop, and deliver modern cloud-based solutions.
This is a permanent full-time, hybrid position requiring 2–3 days onsite at our Atlantic Canada offices – Halifax, NS; Moncton, NB; Fredericton, NB; Stratford, PEI; or St. John’s, NL.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Translate business requirements into detailed technical design specifications and high-quality code.
• Design, develop, and implement scalable full stack solutions using Angular, Node.js, AWS, and serverless technologies such as Lambda.
• Develop and consume APIs (REST/JSON, SOAP/XML) and contribute to microservices-based architectures.
• Perform unit testing, develop supporting artefacts/documentation, and facilitate final solution delivery.
• Assess the impact of design decisions on performance, schedule, budget, quality, and downstream systems; recommend optimization and mitigation strategies where required.
• Lead and facilitate meetings with subject matter experts across business, infrastructure, operations, applications, and vendors to define requirements, timelines, and delivery plans.
• Monitor development progress, track performance metrics, and proactively address risks and issues.
• Build supportable and reusable solutions aligned with enterprise standards and common asset strategies.
• Recommend and implement automation or process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and system integration.
• Actively participate in Agile/SCRUM ceremonies and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices through continuous learning and professional engagement.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 6+ years of hands-on Full Stack Development experience.
• Strong expertise in Angular (minimum Angular 12 through latest versions up to 18).
• Mandatory experience with AWS, including Lambda.
• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js.
• Experience building and consuming APIs using REST/JSON and SOAP/XML.
• Good understanding of microservices architecture and API documentation tools such as Swagger and OpenAPI.
• Familiarity with messaging and state management technologies such as Kafka and Redux (nice to have).
• Knowledge of OAuth and modern authentication/authorization frameworks (nice to have).
• Experience with cloud and DevOps tools and concepts such as OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes, Artifactory, BitBucket, Bamboo, Ansible, and GitHub.
• Nice to have experience with Java, AWS CDK, and Fargate.
• Comfortable working in an Agile/SCRUM environment with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across business and technical teams.
