Your Opportunity

You will work on tasks under the guidance of an Architect or a Senior Designer. This is an intermediate level Architect Intern design role. You will be designing architectural schematics, developing space programming and site planning, as well as developing the form of the building, sections, and architectural details. You will be working with an innovative team on creating new sustainable prototypes.

Your Key Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Senior Architects, develop designs for projects in a variety of sectors (institutional, education, commercial, retail, healthcare)

Assist in business development activities such as writing proposals, attending conferences, reviewing work plans.

Evaluate and assimilate design changes introduced by the client or project architect

Coordinate the architectural design with other members of the design team along with engineering consultants and specialist design disciplines.

Manage multiple projects at the same time, with minimal supervision.

Assist in the preparation of deliverables at all project phases.

Support good practices and established policies on project delivery, quality control, and safety

Continuously contribute to our team’s goal of delivering excellence – in design, project delivery and communication

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

In the process of becoming a Registered Architect in Canada.

Strong BIM knowledge and Revit proficiency is a must

Knowledge of additional modeling and design software such as Rhino, SketchUp, Grasshopper is an asset

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and others

Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes

Proven technical understanding of building science and construction contracts.

Able to work effectively in managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with clients and design team members

Education and Experience

A degree in Architecture (4 year) Undergraduate or Masters’ degree

A minimum 3 years' experience as a graduate architect, on a wide array of projects
