Visionpool Business Services is hiring a UX / UI Designer with extensive technical experience in creating intuitive, user-centered designs and optimizing digital experiences across platforms.
Responsibilities :
The UX / UI Designer will play a critical role in the success of the Business Modernization program by designing user-centric experiences that drive efficiency, usability and consistency across organizational tools, systems, and platforms. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the following requirements :
1. User research and analysis
a. Conduct user research to understand the needs, pain point, and behaviors of diverse user groups, including internal stakeholders and external customers.
b. Gather feedback via interviews, surveys, focus groups, and usability testing
c. Create detailed user personas and journey maps to guide the design process
2. Design and development of User Centric Solutions
a. Design intuitive, user-friendly interfaces for the primary platform and other tools or systems within the program.
b. Work collaboratively with implementation partner to develop wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to communicate design concepts effectively.
c. Ensure the designs are aligned with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG compliance)
d. Collaborate with developers to ensure accurate implementation of the designs
3. Establish Unified Design System
a. Create and maintain a comprehensive design system, including components, system guides, and interaction patterns, to promote consistency across all systems and projects
b. Define and document design principles, tones and guidelines for use by other teams
c. Work with the branding teams to ensure alignment with the organizational visual identity
4. Collaborate with Cross Functional Teams
a. Partner with product managers, business analysts, developers, solution providers, implementation partners and other stakeholders to align design work with business goals and technical feasibility.
b. Participate in workshops, brainstorming sessions, and review meetings to co-create solutions.
c. Provide expert guidance on best practices in UX / UI design to support overall program objectives.
5. Usability Testing and Iterations
a. Conduct usability testing on prototypes and final design to identify and resolve issues early in the development process.
b. Use data from analytics tools and user feedback to refine and improve designs iteratively
6. Support Business Modernization Goals
a. Assist in integrating new tools, technologies, and systems into the business ecosystems by ensuring a seamless user experience across all the platforms.
b. Ensure scalability and adaptability of the design to accommodate future enhancement and integrations
7. Reporting and Documentation
a. Document design decisions, research findings, and testing outcomes for future reference and stakeholder communication
b. Provide regular updated to program leadership on progress, challenges, and key achievements
8. Training and knowledge transfer
a. Train internal teams on the design system and UX / UI best practices to ensure long term sustainability
b. Create guides and resources to support the organizations ongoing design efforts
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in UX / UI Design, Graphic Design, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- Active Certifications in User Experience design, such as Certified User Experience Analyst (CXA) by Human Factors International (HFI) - Focuses on advanced UX strategies and aligning UX design with business goals, UX Design by Google, Nilesen Norman Group certifications, or equivalent.
- A minimum of five years of experience in UX / UI design with a proven track record of designing and delivering user-centric digital solutions.
- Experience in creating wireframes, prototypes, and mockups tailored to user needs preferably in the agriculture, insurance, crop insurance, public service or financial services industry.
- Experience conducting user research and usability testing preferably with producers / farmers, agents and agriculture stakeholders.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in designing complex data-driven platforms, preferably within the public sector, citizen services, agriculture, or insurance context.
- Experience with Government of Saskatchewan, Crown Corporations, or comparable entities, as it relates to the technical and business landscape.
- Familiarity with SAAS P&C insurance platforms, especially in designing interfaces and workflow policy, billing, and claims management.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design tools and software, with a strong understanding of user experience principles and best practices
- Experience in responsive design and accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Familiarity with, ensuring alignment with Canadian data privacy laws (e.g., Saskatchewan’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act).
- Strong understanding of data visualization techniques.
- Experience collaborating with stakeholders including employees, external vendors, advocacy groups (e.g. producer or commodity organizations) and government agencies.
