Job Title : Registered Technologist, Laboratory

Wage Range : $36.84 to $50.24 per hour
This posting is intended to collect applications from individuals interested in potential and future Registered Technologist, Laboratory roles at Niagara Health. Position Objective
Functioning as a team player, the Medical Laboratory Technologist will support all staff in the provision of quality laboratory services to assist physicians and other healthcare providers in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease. This includes performing quality laboratory testing according to legislative requirements in biochemistry, hematology, transfusion medicine and associated specimen handling. The Medical Laboratory Technologist will focus on continuous monitoring and improvement of practices to meet or exceed patient / client needs and will support the mission, vision and values of Niagara Health while providing safe and competent care. The successful candidate's home site will be the listed site and must be willing to work at two or more sites.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology Program
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO)
- Two years related clinical laboratory experience in the past five years in a similar hospital environment
- Working knowledge of processing medical laboratory specimens
- Applies knowledge, skills, judgment and competencies required for safe, independent and inter‑disciplinary practice meeting professional standards as outlined by the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario and related professional associations
- Applies Niagara Health values and professional practice standards to patient / client care and service
- Integrates reflection, critical thinking, education and relevant practical experience for problem solving
- Working knowledge of computers, Laboratory Information Systems and other related hospital systems
- Proficiency in both official languages (English & French) will be considered an asset
- Consistent and regular attendance required
