About the role

Our growing team is looking for a Release Train Engineer (RTE).

Context and mission

At Intact, we see agility as a pragmatic way of thinking and working. Mastering a scaled framework means bringing it to life and adapting it as much as applying it. If you share this belief, this role is for you.

This position is first and foremost a Release Train Engineer role. That is your primary focus and day-to-day. You will devote most of your energy to it. In addition, your SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) certification will enable you to help embed and evolve SAFe, specifically on the scaled delivery dimension within IT.

You play a key role in ensuring value is delivered smoothly, predictably, and aligned with our strategic objectives. You will work closely with the Product Operations Lead (Product Ops) and the Transformation Coach to align delivery, discovery, and transformation within a learning organization that is evolving its delivery practices toward a product operating model. Agile foundations are already in place (Squads, quarterly planning, Scrum Masters); your challenge will be to structure the ART to raise maturity, not to start from scratch.

You will embody this mindset shift every day:

  • From deadlines to outcomes: You help teams focus on value and results.
  • From direction to autonomy: You move from strict coordination to creating an environment where teams self-organize and find their own rhythm.
  • From solving to enabling: You don’t fix problems on others’ behalf. You ask the right questions to help them solve them themselves.

What you'll do here:

  • Facilitating Agile Release Train (ART) events: Prepare, facilitate, and follow up on major ART events, especially PI Planning (Program Increment Planning), System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt workshops, always understanding the intent behind the ceremony.
  • Coordination and diplomacy: Ensure synchronization across agile teams (Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Developers) and stakeholders. You defuse friction and align sometimes divergent interests.
  • Systemic dependency and risk management: Look beyond a single team’s scope. Visualize the end-to-end value stream to identify and help resolve upstream blockers and dependencies (ROAMing).
  • Optimizing value flow in service of objectives: Partner with Product Ops and Architecture to maintain a healthy, outcome-oriented flow of work. You ensure delivery supports discovery and product objectives, not the other way around.
  • Metrics and reporting: Collect and communicate train-level progress, quality, and predictability metrics to ensure transparency at all levels.
  • Coaching delivery teams: Coach Scrum Masters and teams to strengthen their stance and effectiveness in day-to-day execution.
  • Standardization and cross-train consistency: Help define and evolve SAFe delivery-related standards (templates, ceremonies, Jira/Confluence tooling) to ensure overall consistency while respecting team autonomy.
  • Continuous improvement: Lead improvement initiatives on the delivery dimension and build a sustainable culture of excellence.
  • Your collaboration ecosystem: You won’t work alone. You will be part of a trio of complementary roles covering the three dimensions of the transformation:

You, SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE): Delivery flow, predictability, scaled coordination, enabling team facilitators.

Product Operations Lead (Product Ops): Product discovery, measurable outcomes, product maturity of teams, impact-driven roadmaps.

Transformation Coach: Culture and leadership management mindsets, leader development, systemic change.

Your success will be measured by the quality of this collaboration. We expect you to challenge and be open to being challenged, rather than operating only within your lane.

What you bring to the table:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Release Train Engineer (RTE), Solution Train Engineer (STE), or experienced Agile Coach in a scaled SAFe environment (multi-team, multi-stakeholder). Experience in a transformation toward a product operating model is a major asset.
  • SAFe RTE certification required. An active SAFe SPC certification is a strong asset.
  • Strong understanding of Lean-Agile principles beyond theory, with the ability to translate them into concrete actions in the field.
  • Excellent ability to manage complexity, demonstrate diplomacy, and influence without formal authority. You practice active listening and empathy to understand each person’s reality and build a trusted environment.
  • Tooling mastery: Advanced experience with the Atlassian ecosystem (Jira, Confluence) to run the ART. Interest in using AI is a plus.
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
