Job description
Control-M Automation Engineer (Infrastructure & API Expert)

At Nöord Technologies, we empower top-tier financial institutions with exceptional talent in banking and capital markets. We are currently seeking, on behalf of one of our clients, a high-caliber Control-M SME.

The Mission

As a Control-M Expert, you are more than an administrator; you are the architect of our mission-critical operational scheduling. You will join a dynamic team where your role is to modernize our infrastructure through automation (API) and ensure the absolute resilience of our complex global systems.

Key Challenges & Responsibilities

  • Modernization & Innovation: Drive our Control-M infrastructure into the future by leveraging Automation APIs and integrations to transform traditional scheduling into "Everything as Code".

  • Solution Architecture: Partner with the business to translate complex requirements into robust, scalable technical designs.

  • Complex Batch Orchestration: Lead the configuration and implementation of sophisticated Control-M batch streams, ensuring high-quality standards throughout the release lifecycle.

  • Critical Problem Solving: Act as the technical lead for escalated incidents (P1–P4), conducting deep-dive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to proactively strengthen our environment.

  • Strategic Collaboration: Work alongside cross-functional teams and third-party vendors to orchestrate seamless change management and infrastructure hardening.

Your Profile

  • Technical Leadership: You enjoy providing expert guidance to your peers and fostering a culture of technical excellence.

  • Automation Mindset: You have a proactive approach to troubleshooting and a passion for streamlining infrastructure through modern tools.

  • Quality & Compliance Advocate: You are dedicated to meeting service level expectations while following rigorous incident and change management policies.

Requirements

Your Profile: The Ideal Expert

The Foundation

  • Educational Background: You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or have equivalent high-level field experience.

  • Proven Track Record: You bring 8 to 10 years of solid experience in enterprise-level scheduling and automation environments.

Core Technical Mastery

  • Control-M Specialist: Deep architectural knowledge of Control-M, with hands-on expertise in v9.21 and v9.22 (installation, configuration, and Disaster Recovery).

  • Migration Veteran: You have successfully navigated through multiple Control-M releases and handled complex environment migrations.

  • Platform Versatility: Proficient in Linux OS and experienced in managing agents across Windows (2016 to 2022) and all current UNIX/Linux distributions.

  • Advanced Features: Full command of MFT/AFT, Configuration Manager, Forecasting, and security protocols.

Modern Engineering & Integration

  • API & Automation: Strong proficiency with the Control-M Automation API to drive infrastructure modernization.

  • File Transfer Ecosystem: Beyond Control-M, you possess valuable knowledge of file transfer products like CFT, Connect Direct, MQ Series, or Secure Transport.

  • Complex Troubleshooting: A sharp analytical mind capable of resolving Level 4 issues in direct collaboration with BMC support.

Mindset & Operations

  • Service Excellence: Solid understanding of ITIL frameworks, specifically integrating Incident, Problem, and Change Management (IPC).

  • Dynamic & Reliable: Ready to support US-based operations with a flexible mindset for business-critical weekend work when required.

Work Environment & Logistics

  • Location: Montreal (Hybrid model).

  • Onboarding: To ensure a smooth integration, the first 3 months will be 100% on-site, transitioning to 3 days in-office thereafter.

  • Schedule: Standard business hours (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM ET) following the USA calendar.

  • Language: Professional fluency in English is mandatory.
