In this graduate role, you’ll support our LMR team by delivering field programs for remediation, decommissioning, and reclamation projects. This is a 100% field-based role focused on safe, accurate collection of defensible environmental data to support regulatory compliance and long-term outcomes.

Based out of Worley’s Cold Lake, Alberta field office, willingness to self-relocate to Cold Lake is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out fieldwork across a range of environmental programs, including surface water and groundwater monitoring, soil sampling, drilling support, test pitting, remedial excavations, and reclamation activities.
  • Log and texture soils and operate environmental field equipment in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Collect accurate, high-quality field data using standard operating procedures and best practices.
  • Support Senior Environmental Technologists, team leaders, and Project Managers with field coordination, scheduling, and procurement of project supplies.
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation and field reports.
  • Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental protection in all activities.
  • Participate in job walks while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) in operating facilities and outdoor environments.
  • Walk extended distances over uneven terrain and work safely in varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
  • Travel as required to support field programs in the region.

Qualifications / Skill Set

  • Diploma or Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline from an accredited institution, along with relevant continuing education.
  • Foundational knowledge of environmental science principles and environmental fieldwork practices.
  • Previous internship or entry-level experience with an environmental science or engineering consultancy is considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to collect and record accurate field data.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to balance multiple field tasks.
  • Ability to work independently in the field while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
  • Analytical thinking and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to self-relocate to the designated Worley office location in Cold Lake, Alberta.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
