Job Duties Job Duties 1. B. Ed Math and / or Sciences Major, or an equivalent combination of education and training in a field related to math / sciences.
2. Two years’ recent and relevant experience in remedial teaching in math and / or science.
3. Demonstrated ability to support students in an online environment including making adaptations / modifications to online content to enhance student outcomes.
4. Training and / or experience at the introductory level in the use of common software packages, i.e. MS Office Suite.
5. Ability to effectively provide adult education.
6. Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of students.
7. Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
8. Demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous social, economic and cultural challenges in Saskatchewan and the relationship of these challenges to the support of Indigenous students.
9. Demonstrates valuing diversity. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE Specific Accountabilities Duties Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA) 1. Develop and deliver remedial instruction in math / sciences.
2. Develop and deliver instruction in an online environment using a variety of learning strategies and modes of delivery.
3. Develop and deliver study skills instruction in response to individual and group needs.
4. Identify learning problems and provide instruction and learning plans for special needs students.
5. Assess learning needs of post-secondary students, design, facilitate and evaluate learning opportunities to facilitate those needs.
6. Facilitate exam reading accommodations.
7. Create and manage a positive learning environment.
8. Provide educational advice and support.
9. Liaison with internal and external partners regarding student progress.
10. Record and maintain statistics and provide reports to the Student Development program head.
11. Work with counselors to create and implement strategies to support students who have learning disabilities and other special learning needs.
