Job Description :

We are seeking a Senior Technical Data Center Project Manager with strong hands-on technical expertise to lead and execute a complex data center move. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of IT infrastructure, data center operations, and migration best practices, combined with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and deliver projects on time, within scope, and budget.

This role requires a technical professional with hands-on experience in data center environments and a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale migrations.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead the planning, design, and execution of a full-scale data center relocation, including physical infrastructure, network systems, and application migrations.
  • Oversee the planning, design, and execution of data center migrations, ensuring minimal disruption and system continuity.
  • Develop and maintain project scope, schedule, milestones, risk mitigation strategies, and budget tracking.
  • Develop and manage project scope, timelines, risk mitigation strategies, and budget tracking.
  • Coordinate hardware and software decommissioning, racking and stacking, cabling, and system validation during migration activities.
  • Work closely with infrastructure, application, and operations teams to identify dependencies, minimize disruptions, and ensure system continuity.
  • Manage vendor engagements, including contracts, SLAs, and onsite technical resources.
  • Facilitate communication across project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and progress.
  • Implement and enforce best practices for data center security, compliance, and disaster recovery planning during the transition.
  • Conduct post-move validation and testing to ensure all systems and services are operational.

Required Qualifications :

  • 10+ years of experience in IT project management with a focus on data center operations and infrastructure.
  • Hands-on technical experience with data center technologies, including servers, storage, networking, and virtualization (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Proven track record of leading end-to-end data center migrations or relocations.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components such as firewalls, load balancers, cabling, and power management.
  • Proficiency with migration methodologies, tools, and strategies for seamless transitions.
  • Experience with managing technical vendors and contract resources.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and risk management skills.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or equivalent certifications.
  • Technical certifications (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, AWS).
  • Experience with disaster recovery (DR) solutions and compliance frameworks.
