As such, we are proud to support a hybrid work approach, which includes flexible hours and work-from-home options.Standard Work Hours : Mon - Fri | 7 : 45 am - 4 : 00 pm | 36.25 hours per week (Summer Hours)Salary Range : $63,237 - $86,308 per annumYOUR FOCUSReporting to the Director, Resource Planning & Budgeting, the Budget Analyst supports strategic financial planning by providing analysis, guidance, and reporting for assigned portfolios within the University. This role strengthens departmental decision-making through budget development, policy interpretation, and data-driven insights that align with institutional goals.Build relationships, rapport, and understanding of each assigned portfolio.Offer guidance on how to achieve objectives within policy and guidelines.Support the preparation of financial transactions and understand historic transactions.Analysis to support funding proposals, or to offer alternative suggestions.Budget review and year-end checks, specific to the portfolio. Prepare year-end analysis and reports.Review annual budget submissions and supporting documentation.Prepare and review budget communications.Review portfolio-level reporting such as salary savings and budget carry forward reports.Help prepare and review the University budget overview report.Ad hoc analysis to support management, board, and executive-level decision-making.Design methodology, collect data from multiple sources for consolidation and analysis.Lead for specifically assigned roles and become a subject matter expert. These roles might include several the following examples : capital budgets and reporting; provision and contingency management; time-line management; revenue modeling; budget committee coordination; maintaining process and procedure documentation.Create, update, and review policy and guidelines.WHAT YOU BRINGDiploma in a recognized accounting / business program3-5 years' related work experienceAdditional Strengths : Demonstrated analytical skills and knowledge of MS Office products is essential.Continuous learning and critical thinking skills to keep up with a complex and fast-moving environment.Experience of a university environment.Good relationship and communication skills are required.
