Job Description

What is the Opportunity?

We’re seeking a highly motivated Senior Developer who thrives in an agile environment and is focused on quality. You’ll be working with a skilled team of developers and security architects to build and deploy highly scalable applications to On-Premises data centres and Cloud. The team is responsible for executing ‘Security-As-A-Service’ strategy – Design, Build and Rollout API integrations and automations for critical RBC Security platforms and processes. The role involves coordination, development, communication and execution to ensure objectives are accomplished on time and meeting intents. In this role, you will be a developer within the Security DevOps and Automation team, responsible for designing and implementing software solutions across multiple platforms. You will be involved in implementing SOAR (Security Orchestration Automation and Response) platform use cases, as we integrate with new products, transitioning from old products to new, and will fix integrations and critical issues as they are raised.

What will you do?

You will work in an Agile manner with our consumers, security architects, and a team of developers to deliver applications, API integrations, automations, and Generative AI solutions for critical Cyber Security platforms and processes.

  • Design, Develop, and Debug: Refine and translate complex business requirements and create, design, analyze, develop, and debug software applications and SOAR automations, including Gen AI solutions, to meet business requirements, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.

  • Deployment and Integration: Build and maintain deployment pipelines to cloud platforms (e.g., OpenShift, AWS, Azure, PCF), containerize and deploy applications, and integrate security products and Gen AI solutions with existing infrastructure.

  • Cyber Security and SIEM Integration: Design and build Cyber Security applications for scalability and resiliency, including Gen Ai-driven security tools, and integrate applications with SIEM systems for alerting and reporting.

  • Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis: Perform root-cause analysis for production problem tickets and provide options for solution, managing risks, assumptions, and constraints, and communicating to appropriate parties.

  • Prioritization and Time Management: Effectively prioritize demands to meet tight deliverable deadlines and ensure high-quality software development, participating in strategy and brainstorming sessions for software-specific initiatives.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Establish strong working relationships across various business units and platforms to build influence and impact with key business partners and provide support for integration projects from business requirements gathering to go-live and post-implementation support.

  • Performance Optimization: Develop back-end components to improve responsiveness and overall performance, ensuring applications are optimized for scalability, reliability, and security.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have:

  • 5+ years experience in Python development

  • Experience with frameworks such as FastAPI, Lang Chain and Lang Graph and experience and exposure vector databases, LLMs and RAG pipelines

  • Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in the field of Generative AI

  • Proven experience integrating 3rd party systems via API.

  • Experience in utilizing CI/CD tools (such as GitHub Actions) to automate, build, test and deploy processes, ensuring smooth and efficient software delivery.

  • Knowledge of software development best practices, including code standards, reviews, and testing methodologies.

  • Prior experience with Unix command line/CLI, Docker and Podman.

  • Demonstrated skills with Lucid/Gliffy, Jira, Confluence.

  • Master’s degree or 3-year diploma in one of the following: Software Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a Technology related field.

Nice to Have:

  • Proven expertise supporting SOAR platform.

  • Strong understanding of security tools such as Firewalls, IPS/IDS, SIEM, EDR, XDR etc.

  • Cybersecurity related certifications from recognized organizations such as ISC2, CompTia or others.

  • Previous experience working in a Security Operations Centre (SOC)

  • Previous experience implementing SRE best practices and working with system monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana or Prometheus.
