We are also proud to be named Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures for 2023 Learn more at shn.ca Job Description : Reporting to the Information Security Manager, the Cyber Security Specialist plays an integral role in the delivery of the Cyber Security program through the Local Delivery Group (LDG) in the Central East Region. This role will be a part of a collaborative team that will implement, manage and support Cyber Security infrastructure, policies, practices and assessments to ensure the organization Cyber Security maturity goals are met. As a Cyber Security Specialist, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our organization's digital assets and infrastructure against potential cyber threats. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and data from unauthorized access, breaches, and cyber-attacks. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our information systems and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. Responsibilities :
- Design, implement and maintain cyber security systems within the organizational infrastructure
- Continuously monitor and assess business needs against security concerns, proactively recommending changes to enhance information systems security posture.
- Review and enhance activities for IT risks control, ensuring that operational and application compliance with established security procedures, systems, and policies
- Lead information security assessment and testing, encompassing penetration testing, vulnerability mitigation, threat modeling, authentication, access, and authorization controls
- Conduct thorough evaluations of incoming technology and vendors to ensure comprehensive due diligence.
- Evaluation of new systems, technologies, and services for security due diligence, ensuring alignment with organizational security standards.
- Stay abreast of current cyber security threat landscape and trends, providing ongoing education and training to relevant stakeholders
- Foster collaboration with similar organizations to maintain cyber security industry standards and readiness for potential security incidents throughput the healthcare landscape.
- Collaborate with the Technical team to ensure a seamless implementation of security policies and procedures across the organization.
- Proactively monitor systems for vulnerabilities and enact appropriate remediation measures based on documented security standards
- Manage Security awareness training initiatives to educate and empower the regional / CE CIS user base against cyber threats.
- Educating the Regional / CE CIS user base to safeguard against cyber-attacks, including those leveraging social engineering tactics aimed at manipulating individuals to divulge sensitive information or perform unauthorized actions.
- Collaborate with regional partners to fortify shared systems against emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
- Manage security incidents and lead incident management efforts to minimize organizational risk
- Conduct periodic reviews of disaster recovery plans to ensure effectiveness and relevance
- Regularly review and update security policies to align with evolving threat landscapes and regulatory requirements
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the management to support the overall security objectives of the organization Requirements :
- Bachelor's Degree or diploma in a relevant technology field.
- 5 years work experience managing Cyber Security infrastructure in an enterprise environment
- Strong understanding of enterprise network, cyber security systems, vulnerabilities, and support requirements.
- Advanced knowledge and skills in network security, network protocols and functionality including TCP / IP, Active Directory, Domain Name Services, FTP / SCP, IIS administration, and HTTP.
- Advanced knowledge and skills in Microsoft Windows infrastructure design and administration
- Demonstrated proficiency in Cloud Security, along with experience in hardware or software load balancing solutions, in-depth knowledge of SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) solutions and End-point Detection and Response (EDR) technologies.
- Comprehensive knowledge with Palo Alto, Crowdstrike, Splunk, and other similar platforms is highly preferred. Behavioral
