As a Credit Underwriter, you will play a key role in delivering a best-in-class member experience through-out the loans application process. The Credit Underwriter gathers all borrower and credit application information required to co-ordinate, verify and analyze credit applications and ensures consistent, objective and sound credit decisions in a high-volume environment within prescribed service level agreements. The Credit Underwriter drives smart growth through the review, analysis and assessment of borrowers’ financial information following established policy, guidelines and procedure to safeguard our members and Prospera Credit Union.

What you’ll do :

• Review, analyze and verify mortgage application information and documents including the analysis of financial statements, income documentation, property assessments and appraisals and real estate contracts.
• Approve mortgages and lines of credit within established lending guidelines and limits and ensure consistent, objective and sound credit decisions in a high-volume environment.
• Act as a knowledge-based resource for the Advice Centres and Prospera’s mortgage Broker Partners.
• Build and Maintain relationships across the Advice Centre Network and with mortgage broker partners to form a deep understanding of borrower needs through collaborating on solutions to meet the financial needs of our members.
• Continuously monitor, maintain and prioritize Advice Centre and broker originated applications accurately and in real time to ensure Advice Centre and brokers expectations and deadlines are met, and service level agreements are achieved.
