Duties:

  • Online, blended, and technology-enhanced learning environments

Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning and student success through scholarship and institutional service. Required Qualifications:

Doctoral degree in a relevant field (e.g., Curriculum and Pedagogy, Teacher Education, Educational Technology, or a closely related discipline) from an appropriately accredited institution.

  • Demonstrated expertise in educational technology as applied to teacher education contexts.
  • Evidence of effective interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills, with the ability to work successfully in team-based environments and with individuals from diverse cultural and academic backgrounds.
  • A demonstrated commitment to the development of teachers, including significant professional experience in K-12 educational settings, with experience in curriculum implementation and core competencies.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Indigenous principles of teaching and learning.
  • Eligibility for a British Columbia Teaching Certificate, or equivalent teacher certification.
  • Evidence of ongoing commitment to teaching excellence, student learning, and educational scholarship and/or research.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success teaching adult learners in post-secondary or university-level settings.
  • Familiarity with Vancouver Island University Teacher Education programs.
  • Knowledge of current BC Ministry of Education and Child Care initiatives, including curriculum, assessment, and reporting frameworks.
