We are presently accepting resumes for a People and Culture Talent Acquisition to support full cycle recruiting for Empower Simcoe. In conjunction with the People and Culture Manager, preparing and posting vacant positions, screen ing applicants for interviews , setting up interviews for selected individuals , prepare interview packages , ensure all preemployment documents are obtained and verified, prepare offer letters and employment contracts and meeting with new employees to complete onboarding and orientation.
Compensation package :
- Work up to 37.5 hours per week;
- Minimum starting rate of $ 3 1. 49 per hour; $ 61,406 annualized ;
- Opportunity to work remotely up to 60% of scheduled hours ;
- 11 statutory holidays are observed , with public holiday pay;

Community College diploma in office administration or human resources or an equivalent knowledge and experience as deemed acceptable by Empower Simcoe.Minimum of 3 years full-time recent administrative experience In People and Culture / Human Resources in a unionized and non-unionized environment preferably in the social services field;2 to 3 years full-time experience for full cycle recruiting including using social media and online recruitment methods, resume screening, preparing for interviews, reference checking, preparing offer letters and contract;Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and candidate experience throughout the recruitment process;Experienced in working with data entry into an HRIS system is desirable and above average computer skills in Excel, Word, and Power Point;Demonstrated excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, detail oriented and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently maintain confidentiality of privilege information; knowledge of the Employment Standards Act as it pertains to payroll and P eople and C ulture and the ability to interpret collective agreements and Standards of Practice is preferred.Special factors of this position :
Must be prepared to work flexible hours as required .Ability to deal with conflict using tact, patience, and courtesy.Ability to analyse procedural and system problems and make effective recommendations.Valid drivers' license and own reliable transportation to be used in the course of employment.Duties and Responsibilities (including, but not limited to) :
Receiving requests for posting vacant positions , drafting job postings for review and posting on our applicant tracking systemEnsuring posting of positions is done through a variety of avenues with an equity, inclusi ion and divers ity lens , including reaching out to community partners, educational institutions, to maximize our exposureResearch and recommend strategies to support strategic inclusive and diverse recruitmentScreening resumes while posting is current and upon expiry provide a short-list of qualified applicants to the hiring supervisor for their considerationContacting qualified applicants to set up interviews and send ing confirmation of interviews to the applicants and to the interviewing teamConducting reference checks for all external applicants and studentsPreparing offer letter s and employment contract s , where required for signingSetting up a meeting to complete onboardingWelcoming new employees and executing the engagement plan throughout the onboarding journey, coordinating onboarding and Agency- wide orientation presentationsCreating and maintaining employees onboarding handbooksSuggesting creative ways of reaching out to attract diverse talent, using social media, online resources, marketing campaigns etc., to ensure optimum exposure. Assisting with new strategies to enhance the recruitment process by working on marketing campaigns, conducting research and recommending creative ways to support recruitmentActing as a lead for student placements, ensuring health and safety education is provided and liaising with program areas for quality placementsAttending career fairs to support recruitment needsProviding support to People and Culture Associate during periods of absences of staff, as requiredBeing knowledgeable of the duties performed by the People and Culture Employee Wellbeing to assist during periods of absences where coverage is required due to meeting payroll processing timelinesMaintaining an open and friendly relationship with all employees, and providing employees with information / clarification as requiredPreparing recruitment statistics and reports as requiredEmpower Simcoe is committed to a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace where everyone feels respected and valued.
