Primary Role of This Position
The National Credit Manager is responsible for a large and diverse portfolio requiring excellent credit risk management skills, expertise in customer security agreements along with strong process and systems knowledge. This role will collaborate with the Supervisor, Credit & Collections on setting credit policies, monitoring credit lines, and collecting on past due and problem accounts.
Major Responsibilities
- Manage credit risk of customers from small independent pharmacies to national accounts
- Evaluate potential customers’ creditworthiness and get appropriate security agreements in place
- Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, and Finance to ensure all credit related matters are addressed in a timely manner
- Establish credit policies and procedures that are consistent with industry standards and company goals
- Manage collection of accounts
- Monitor and manage customer credit limits, making recommendations for changes when necessary
- Demonstrate initiative to streamline processes and implement controls to ensure completeness, accuracy, and efficiency
- Develop and maintain positive business relationships with our customers through regular communications and personal visits to further support credit recommendations
- Prepare reports and provide analysis of credit and collections data to senior management
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to credit and collections
- Create a strong and motivated team environment providing guidance and training as needed
- Other duties as assigned
