As Executive Director of the Upper Canada Family Health Team (UCFHT) headquartered in Brockville, you will ensure the effective ongoing operation of a large team of Integrated Health Professionals at a time of dynamic change and growth for the Primary Health Care sector.
The UCFHT’s vision is to improve the health of individuals in their community with excellent care delivered by a family-centered, collaborative, accessible, primary health care team, working in an integrated system in the Thousand Islands region. UCFHT is a diverse group of 25 physicians and more than 35 health care practitioners and support staff, including family physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, social service workers, and dieticians who are leaders in the region in the provision of comprehensive primary health care from 10 locations in 5 different communities.
The ED is a strategic and self-motivated leader who advises the Board on policy, risk, quality improvement, program development and evaluation, and resource management within the UCFHT and the broader health care system. The position requires proven leadership and collaborative team-building skills as well as strategic planning and healthcare management expertise.
What you bring to the role :
- You are an experienced leader with five or more years in operations at the senior management level in healthcare, preferably within a primary care environment or integrated health service delivery model.
- You have deep knowledge of and genuine commitment to the potential of Family Health Teams in the context of the delivery and evolution of primary care.
- You have proven experience with the planning, prioritization and execution skills required to implement, innovate, manage, and lead the development of a strategic plan that responds to the changing needs of today’s health care environment.
- You have the finesse, tact, and leadership skills to successfully work with a diverse group of health professionals; you are a collaborative unifier and a high-level strategic thinker.
- You have experience working within the financial parameters set out in the annual budget and funding agreements.
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills and are a succinct and accurate communicator with demonstrated experience reporting to a Board of Directors.
- You have a collaborative management style that reflects dedication, integrity, confidentiality, accountability, sound analytical thinking, and positive collaboration.
- You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in health or social services; a master’s level degree in Health Service Administration, Social Sciences, or Business Administration is preferred.
We thank all applicants for their interest, but only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
