Our operators play a vital role in providing safe, reliable, and customer-focused transportation services that help people get where they need to go—every day.
As a casual operator, you’ll receive hands-on training and have the flexibility to work across both Conventional Transit and HandyDART (Paratransit) services, filling in for full-time drivers during vacations, sick leaves, and other coverage needs.
Although this is a casual position, we’re looking for candidates with full weekday and Saturday availability . Operators may receive close to full-time equivalent hours, depending on service demand and coverage requirements.
Wage :
- $ when operating a light-duty bus (HandyDART or Paratransit)
- $ when operating conventional transit
- Training pay : 70% of applicable wage ($ conventional, $ HandyDART)
Hours of Work : Casual – hours will vary based on operational needs. Casual Operators may be assigned to shifts in either Trail or Castlegar to provide coverage for vacation relief, medical leave, or other absences.
