As part of our continuing growth in this high technology market, Teledyne DALSA is recruiting for a Cost Accountant in Waterloo!

The Cost Accountant / Analyst will be reporting to the Digital Imaging Controller. and will be responsible for, but not limited to the following :

Implementing cost standards for materials, labour and overhead.

Monitoring unit cost variance by reviewing bi-weekly purchase price variance reports.

Preparing revenue, COGS and margin analysis reports.

Reconciling raw materials, WIP and finished goods.

Updating bookings and backlog reports.

Additional responsibilities include :

Providing analysis of manufacturing cost variances.

Reviewing, analyzing, and updating standard costs.

Co-ordination / documentation of quarterly obsolescence and reserve reviews.

Assisting with yearly inventory counts

Warranty reserve analysis and review.

Quarterly audit requirements and reports.

Assisting in SOX documentation pertain to operations.

Heavily involved in process improvement initiatives.

Supporting various cost accounting special projects.

Requirements :

5+ years experience in a similar role

A good understanding of cost accounting with inventory experience in a manufacturing or high tech environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as the position requires working closely with multiple groups within Teledyne

Proficient skills in Excel and ERP systems.

The successful candidate will preferably have / CPA or equivalent designation.

Must be a self-starter who is efficient and well organized.

Detail orientated.

SAP experience would be an asset
