We are currently looking to bring on board two passionate, engaging and talented Educators, School Visits to deliver a range of diverse educational programs taking place on our 10-acre campus with the goal to create memorable, informative, fun and rich learning experiences.

Type of Employment : Contract, from April – June 2026
Hours of Work : Based on need and program registrations, 0 / 5 days per week, 8 : 30am-2 : 30pm

Rate of Pay : $22 per hour
Location : On site at our waterfront campus in downtown Toronto
Summary of Function
Located at Harbourfront Centre, School Visits is an innovative field-trip program that offers hands-on, curriculum-based learning experiences through multidisciplinary experiences. School Visits Educators are responsible for delivering programs in Visual Arts, including clay, mixed media, printmaking and / or textile arts as well as Urban Studies Programs that incorporate guided walks on our 10-acre waterfront campus.
Programs take place in both indoors and outdoors venues, including event tents in May and June. Educators must be prepared to work in a variety of settings and weather conditions. Key responsibilities include setting up, facilitating, and cleaning up after scheduled workshops. In addition to leading workshops, Educators introduce visiting groups to Harbourfront Centre by highlighting current galleries, exhibitions, and upcoming programs.
Duties
- Facilitate hands-on, curriculum-based School Visits programs in Visual Arts and Urban Studies for grades pre-kindergarten to grade 12.
- Prepare, set up and cleanup program spaces, materials and equipment for scheduled workshops.
- Deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences for visiting school groups.
- Support learning in both indoor and outdoor environments, including event tents during May and June, and adapt programming to varying weather conditions.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for all participants.
- Monitor and evaluate programs to ensure they meet the needs of students and teachers, with a strong emphasis on experiential learning.
- Provides superior customer service to visiting teachers and student groups.
- Take ownership of student safety during an emergency procedure.
- Supports co-op students, volunteers, interns and / or student teachers when assigned.
- Follow established health and safety procedures, program guidelines, and organizational policies.
- Participate in training, orientation, and professional development as required.
- Assist with basic program evaluation, feedback collection, and reporting as requested.
